Alarming News In Pauanui.
After much deliberation, in depth discussion, guest research and years of trials we have decided to do away with the alarm clocks in the bedrooms in our units. They are never used as alarm clocks or radios and are often turned off at the wall or turned twoards the wall because they shine too brightly in the dark room.
More and more of our overseas guests now travel with cellphones and most kiwis do too. These give them a clock and alarm that they are familiar with. We also can give them a "wake-up call" if they have nothing to wake them up. We do this already for our tour groups. Of course, if a guest makes a request for a clock we will oblige with a spare.
The overriding factor in this decision is that we are a place of peacefullness and relaxation and an alarm clock has no place in this atmosphere and none of our guests are at work while they are here!
After a recent assessment by Qualmark we are pleased to advise that we have again achieved the Four Star Plus level from our national accommodation quality system. We are sure that the policy we have to constantly improve our property by making changes and regularly replacing chattels really assists us to remain at a high level of achievement.
We are strong supporters of Qualmark and are pleased more sections of the tourism industry are using their assessment system and that our Qualmark systems are being more recognised by our overseas visitors.
